The Goodwin Mansion is located in the heart of downtown Hartford, CT. Built in 1903, the mansion was neglected for decades only to be ravaged by fire in 1997. Although it appeared that demolition would soon follow, a number of preservation groups stepped up to save the historical landmark. The mansion was completely burned down with only the exterior brick shell remaining. Trees were actually growing up out of the inside! In complete charge of this restoration, Glenn Dougherty led the multi-million dollar renovation which lasted for 2 1/2 years.
